The Snail and the Whale

Posted by bwalledge on Thursday Mar 15, 2018 Under Uncategorised

For the rest of the term, we are continuing to share and work on the book. ‘The Snail and the Whale’ by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler.

Pupils have already produced a collage for display.  (Photos to follow.)

So far we have ordered and written about the story, used adjectives to describe a scene and written about our favourite part.

Next week we are going to learn about speech and thought bubbles.

Are there other Julia Donaldson books that you know?  Which is your favourite and why?

Nativity

Posted by bwalledge on Wednesday Nov 8, 2017 Under Uncategorised

This year all year one pupils will be angels in our school Nativity. For this, could you please provide an angel costume; it may be a shop bought outfit or something as simple as an over-sized white t-shirt with gold adornment (tinsel, glitter, ribbon).

Memories

Posted by bwalledge on Wednesday Nov 8, 2017 Under Uncategorised

Don’t forget to bring in your memory boxes / special items by Monday 13th November,  as we will need them for our lessons during the following weeks.

We are looking forward to these being shared with the class and we hope that it will lead to lots of fantastic work.

Have lovely weekend.
